Special characteristics:
Gemstones are something special, like this one, from the very south of China from the famous nature reserve Jiu Long Shan near Guiyang. The tea garden is located in the highlands near Feng Gang. With the Dalou Mountain (Dalou Shan) to the north and the Wujiang River to the south, the city belongs to the Qianzhong Plateau (Central Guizhou Plateau), where it is not so hot in summer and not so cold in winter, where it rains abundantly. Lu Bao Shi (translated "Green Jewel", also known as "China Emeralds" or "green emerald") is cultivated without the use of chemical additives.
The leaves are rolled in a special rolling process to their typical spherical shape with flat edges that almost resemble small green gems. The time of harvesting and thus the size of the leaves are important criteria to ensure that the leaves get their special shape during production and survive the manufacturing process without damage. The leaves unfold completely during infusion, without stems, twigs or other accessories, and hardly become bitter even after several or longer infusions.
This is the spring harvest (premium quality / first harvest of the year / hand-picked). This variety is, of course, produced continuously throughout the year (as is usually the case with well-known varieties). Only the earliest harvests produce the highest quality tea. Harvesting for this quality is only possible during a short period (approx. 2 weeks) of the year. The tea captivates with its wonderful aroma and fruity scent. Due to the way it is processed, the tea is an ideal everyday companion for every green tea lover. The simplest way to prepare the tea is to pour it directly into a glass and add fresh water (80 degrees Celsius). The tea sinks to the bottom by itself. The high quality allows for long steeping times.
