Tea garden end of March
Ti Kuan Yin (Tie Guan Yin) is considered the best oolong from China. The harvest presented here comes from the tea gardens of Lin Jinta near Anxi. Lin Jinta uses natural cultivation methods without the use of chemical additives. His tea gardens differ from conventionally cultivated plantations already at first sight. The tea plants are cleaned of grass and weeds by hand. His plantations are located in the highlands around Anxi, which can be reached by a one-hour walk. The warm climate in the south of China makes conventional tea cultivation difficult, especially in the middle and lower mountain regions, because of the high pest infestation. Farmer Lin Jinta therefore still uses traditional highland cultivation. This brings great advantages in the taste of the tea leaves and at the same time serves as a natural protection against insects.

Due to the quality of the soil, one should pay attention to the exact origin of Ti Kuan Yin. This Ti Kuan Yin comes from the area around Anxi. The aroma and taste depends largely on the soil quality. In the province of Fujian you will find very different soils, ranging from light yellowish to deep dark red. Teas grown on yellowish, highly quartzy soils smell wonderful, but are not very good in taste. Teas from red, loamy soils develop little aroma, but stand out in taste. The best tea quality and soil composition is mainly found in the area around Anxi.
Ti Kuan Yin can be produced in different variations (see Ti Kuan Yin). The spectrum ranges from a strong green to a darker colour. During production, this is determined by the degree of oxidation as well as the temperature and duration of the roasting process. Its typical taste is always unmistakable in all variants.

The typical taste of Ti Kuan Yin becomes more expressive and blends with a variety of other aromas. For optimal development of the aromas, the tea is typically prepared in a Yixing pot. Other forms of preparation are of course also suitable.

100% handmade. We get this tea directly from small producers and tea farmers in China. The tea is grown and processed in a traditional way. Such high qualities are usually produced by the tea farmers only for the local Chinese market. Therefore we are regularly on site with the producers. The direct contact to the tea farmers enables us to offer very reasonable prices with outstanding tea quality. All our teas are checked for pesticide residues by an independent laboratory. We deliver the tea in re-sealable and aroma-safe stand-up pouches made of ALU/PE.
