Special characteristics:

A green tea from the mountains of Mabian Autonomous County in Sichuan, China, near the city of Leshan. This variety dates back to the Tang Dynasty. However, the tea has received little public attention and is virtually unknown even in China. The reason for this is the region’s remote location, which is a five-hour drive from the nearest major city, Chengdu.
This tea is grown on Huanglian Shan, on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, at an altitude of 1,200 meters. It is harvested by members of the Yi ethnic group, who have so far only harvested it in quantities sufficient to meet local demand. The tea is harvested very early, in early March. It consists of the first buds, which are just 1 cm long. The tea becomes even more aromatic through hand-roasting in a wok, which also gives it its shape. When brewed, the buds unfold completely again. The quality of the leaves, as well as the processing and roasting methods, make this tea a true delight.
Note: If you would like a larger quantity of this variety for the coming season, please place a reservation with us. We will only produce the exact quantities that have been reserved.

Production and packaging:

Packaging sizes

100% handmade. We get this tea directly from small producers and tea farmers in China. The tea is grown and processed in a traditional way. Such high qualities are usually produced by the tea farmers only for the local Chinese market. Therefore we are regularly on site with the producers. The direct contact to the tea farmers enables us to offer very reasonable prices with outstanding tea quality. All our teas are checked for pesticide residues by an independent laboratory. We deliver the tea in re-sealable and aroma-safe stand-up pouches made of ALU/PE.
