Special characteristics:

A green tea from the mountains of Mabian Autonomous County in Sichuan, China, near the city of Leshan. The tea plants grow here in the clearings of a fairytale-like, secluded forest tea garden at an altitude of 1,500–1,800 meters, surrounded by centuries-old trees. The garden itself was only replanted 10 years ago. Until then, the existence of this ancient tea garden was known only to a local shepherd who occasionally grazes his sheep and goats in the mountains there. Naturally, no pesticides are used whatsoever. Due to the high altitude, the tea bushes grow very slowly and are scattered over a large area. The harvest of the first buds is also delayed by about three weeks. This gives the tea an exceptionally rich flavor. Because of the high labor involved in picking, only the highest-quality buds are harvested. An experienced picker can harvest about 400g of the tiny buds in a single day. After processing and drying, this yields just 80g of tea. The variety is very similar to Zi Ya Gan Lu, but has an even more harmonious flavor.
The tea is harvested by members of the Yi ethnic group, who have so far only harvested enough to meet local demand. The tea is harvested very early, in early March. It consists of the first buds, which are just 1 cm long. The tea becomes even more aromatic through hand-roasting in a wok, which also gives it its shape. When brewed, the buds unfold completely again. The quality of the leaves, as well as the processing and roasting methods, make this tea a true delight.
